The Drop In is a bi-monthly concert series hosted by Alan Stevens Hewitt along with an all-songwriter core band comprising Noel Carey and Everet Almond. Each installment, a special guest “drop-in” songwriter is invited to join the band. The rule: each band member premieres at least one new and/or never publicly performed original song. In 2007 his band, The Shredding Tears, toured nationally and recorded the album “Flight of the Knife,” released April 1, 2008. “Flight of the Knife” was chosen as the Editor's Pick on iTunes and vaulted to the top-30 albums in a day, where it ranked No. 6 in the Rock Albums section.
In 2009, Scary signed with Elijah Woods’ Brooklyn based record label, Old Flame Records, to release his follow-up EP “Mad Valentines.” The band toured this EP throughout 2009.
The LP “Daffy’s Elixir” was recorded in 2010-11 with producer Bryce Goggin (Phish, Pavement), released in April 2012 on Paper Garden Records/Lavaslope Records.
In January 2014, his new band/recording project Evil Arrows (Bryan Scary, Everet Almond, Graham Norwood, and Adrian Perry), released the first in a series of EPs titled “1”. The band has released 5 EPs (“1,” “2,” “3,” “4” & “5”), the first 3 of which were released as a full-length LP in Japan on Rallye Records titled “1-2-3.” A 6th EP is available on Scary’s Patreon (Scaryville) along with numerous other exclusive singles and outtakes.
After relocating to LA, Scary along with bandmate Giulio Carmassi scored several short films and documentaries as Hummingbirds Music. Most notably, the pair wrote and composed the soundtrack for Sundance Film Festival comedy-drama Black Bear starring Aubrey Plaza. Recently Scary and Carmassi composed and performed the soundtrack for the 2022 film Please Baby Please.

Deemed “a true artist of the human condition” by Performer Magazine, Freddy Hall crafts songs about life, love, and everything in between. This indie/pop darling mixes sonic and anthemic elements of monumental artists like Jamiroquai, Beck and Amy Winehouse as well as the sophistication of songwriting greats like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell.
A Virginia native, Freddy set up camp in Brooklyn in the fall 2008 after graduating with esteem from Berklee College of Music, in Boston MA. He quickly made a name for himself touring with Duncan Sheik’s Tony award winning musical SPRING AWAKENING.
Freddy’s has worked with songwriting giants like Carole King, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, and Vanessa Carlton. His musicianship has been featured on Disney+, This American Life, Billboard, and was a staff favorite at Performer Magazine.
Freddy comes alive when he steps on stage. His ability to connect with his audience has landed him in venues of all shapes and sized; from Lincoln Center, to makeshift stages in living rooms. His engaging and energetic performances have earned him a diverse and dedicated fan base.
Earlier this year Freddy teamed up with producer Anthony “Rocky” Gallo (John Legend, Cigarettes After Sex) to record his third studio album Dazy. Dazy is a musical evolution for Hall, expanding on his storytelling and passion-pop capabilities, all the while experimenting with new structures, themes, grooves and sounds.
Out now, Dazy is a journey of self-discovery through loss, and is offered as a beacon of hope, especially to the most fragile among us.(opens in a new tab)
