For more than 40 years, the B-52s have cut a singular path: bringing the world memorable, you-can't-help-but-dance-to-it hits like "Rock Lobster," "Love Shack" “Roam” and “ROCK LOBSTER” and performing for adoring fans around the globe. This year marks their 45th year anniversary marked by their first album release in 1979. Over the years, the B52s have toured with many iconic acts such as Talking Heads,Blondie, the pretenders Ziggy Marley, boy George, KC, kc and the sunshine band, and the Go-Go to name a few.
In the summer and fall of 2022 the B 52s performed their “ farewell to planet earth” tour to sold out crowds - But they then started their iconic Las Vegas residencies at the Venetian theater - this November 2024 being their fourth run there.
The B-52’s have continued to do festivals like the Darker Waves festival in Huntington Beach, California and this past summer the John Waters’ Mosswood Meltdown Festival!
Beyond "The B’s", Kate has collaborated with top acts such as The Ramones, Iggy Pop, R.E.M. Jack White and Pop sensation Sia. In 2015, Kate released her first solo album, Guitars and Microphones, to stellar reviews and later released the single ”Better Not Sting the Bee." A version of “Venus” on Jack White’s Third Man Records Blue series was also released.
In addition to her musical collaborations, Kate has branched out into acting, appearing with her bandmates in the 1994 live-action version of The Flintstones, lending her voice to the 1998 animated The Rugrats Movie, as well as appearances in Portlandia, RuPaul's Drag Race, and solo appearances in Difficult People and HBO’s Flight of the Conchords.” She also appeared in Oprah Winfrey’s series ‘Where Are They Now” with a full updated profile.
Outside of the entertainment industry, Kate and her partner owned the Lazy Meadow (a rustic mid century motel) in the Catskills Mountains near Woodstock, NY as well as Kate's Lazy Desert (a vintage Airstream motel) near the Mojave High Desert in California.
Nine years after her solo debut, 2015’s Guitars and Microphones, Pierson has crafted a diverse collection of her most personal songs yet on the infectious, emotive Radios and Rainbows (SVR Music). “It’s an eclectic group of songs,” says Pierson, “anthems, dance things, a disco song… Overall, the album has an upbeat vibe because I wanted to put out something positive in these dark times. I wanted to make it fun!”
Radios and Rainbows, which came out on September 20th 2024, includes collaborations with Sia, Chris Braide, Jimmy Harry (Madonna grammy winner), Tim Andersen (Ima Robot), Bleu McCauley and Adele bass player Sam Dixon. She has also recently sang on a track with Pylon Reenactment Society and contributed to several tracks on Jane Weidlin’s (Go Gos) new release. KATE’s currently touring, and has a string of 2025 dates to support the album as she continues to continuously write new songs.
